We Have the Power

Do you feel helpless in the face of climate change? If so, you are not alone.

Fortunately, climate change is one of the few things you can have an absolute, immediate impact on! You don't need to wait in line. You don't need to protest. You don't need to donate money. You don't need to argue with your uncle or brother about the facts of climate change. You don't need to write letters or lobby for political change. All those things are good, and important. But at this moment, today, you are 100% in control of YOUR impact on the climate, and that matters!

It may not seem like it, but it is true. Every kilogram of carbon you emit contributes to climate change, and every kilogram you reduce slows it. Individually, it is not much, but collectively, it is everything! “Climate Responsible” is that collective effort.

Are you willing to commit to a 10% reduction in your carbon footprint? Basically, this is a 10% reduction in everything you consume. Could you commit to 10% less toothpaste, 10% less time on your jet ski? 10% fewer hours in your car? 10% fewer new clothes purchases? 10% less food waste? 10% less electricity?

For most of us a 10% reduction may be noticeable, but it is not a hardship. But together this 10% would slow climate change.

Let's do this for our children and our grandchildren!

WE Can't Wait!

Technologies to reduce carbon emissions are affordable and being implemented worldwide. But technologies take money, supply chains, markets, policies, and permits. As we wait, reducing our individual emissions is the quickest, cheapest, and most reliable tool in the climate change toolbox. That is not to say we give up on politics and technologies but only that we do the next best thing as we wait. That next best thing is reducing our own carbon emissions!

The math is simple. Any reductions in emissions will slow climate change. Individually, the effects are imperceptible, but combined, the impact is real and significant. Our goal is to reduce CO2 emissions by 60 million tons, about 1% of the total US emissions.

Anyone can participate. You don't need money, power, or time. We don't want your email or your name. The plan is simple. Commit to a reduction in your own carbon footprint and tell us how much your reduction is. A good target is a 10% reduction, but anything will help. We will keep a tally and report the collective results. Together, we can make a difference. Commit to climate change today!
