Once you have an idea of your target carbon emission reductions, (How Much?) you can estimate what activities it will take to meet your target.

Below are four tables (Gina's Tables) that give estimates of the emissions of different activities or the emission reductions from different activities. Go through the list and pick which ones you want to do. Keep adding activities until you reach your target. If you don't make it, that is fine. Commit what you can.

Example: Target=3 kg/day

  • I will quit drinking my canned beverage each day. 0.17 kg/day

  • I will buy 10 less items of clothing this year. = 0.7 kg/day

  • I will drive 5 miles less per day in my gas vehicle = 1.8 kg/day

Next: Add these reductions 0.17 + 0.7 + 1.8 to get a total commitment of 2.67 kg/day. The next step would be to scroll down to the form below, add your zip code and your commitment of 2.67

Remember these are just estimates, the proof is when you tally your energy bills at the end of the year or end of the month. How much gasoline, electricity, and natural gas did you use in 2026 vs 2025, or this month vs last.
